In beverage production facilities, electric forklifts operate under demanding conditions. Floors are frequently exposed to moisture, spilled liquids, and cleaning chemicals. The choice of tires directly impacts safety, efficiency, and floor longevity.

First, consider the floor type. Most beverage workshops use epoxy-coated concrete, quarry tiles, or sealed industrial concrete. These surfaces are smooth and can become slippery when wet. Solid tires made from non-marking rubber or polyurethane are ideal. They provide excellent traction without damaging the floor. Pneumatic tires are generally not recommended because they can leave marks and require more maintenance.

Second, evaluate the load and maneuverability. Beverage pallets are often heavy, with high stacking requirements. Cushion tires, which are a type of solid tire, offer a balance between shock absorption and stability. They are best for smooth, indoor surfaces. For areas with frequent turning or narrow aisles, a tire with a smaller contact patch and higher sidewall stiffness reduces steering effort.

Third, address environmental factors. Beverage spills contain sugar, acids, and oils that can degrade standard rubber. Choose tires with oil-resistant and chemical-resistant compounds. Polyurethane tires are highly resistant to these substances and maintain consistent performance over time. They also produce less noise, which is beneficial in indoor work zones.

Finally, maintenance matters. Check tire pressure regularly for solid tires (even though they are airless, some have a bonded structure). Inspect for cuts, wear, and separation. Replace tires when tread depth falls below the manufacturer’s recommendation.

Proper tire selection extends equipment life and protects your floor investment. For businesses in Hubei, Hubei Jianshu New Energy provides reliable sales and after-sales service for BYD electric forklifts, helping you choose the right tire configuration for your beverage workshop.
