In a bustling condiment workshop in Hubei, the challenge of controlling noise levels while maintaining efficient material handling is critical. Traditional internal combustion forklifts often generate high decibel levels, disrupting the sensitive production environment and affecting worker concentration. Recently, we had the opportunity to observe the actual performance of a set of electric forklifts supplied by Hubei Jianshu New Energy, a local provider of advanced electric forklifts and after-sales service.
The workshop, which produces various sauces and seasonings, previously relied on diesel-powered equipment. Operators reported that the constant engine rumble and hydraulic noise made communication difficult and increased fatigue. After switching to our electric forklifts, the immediate change was striking. At idle, the electric motor produces virtually no sound—only a faint whir from the drive system. During lifting and traveling, the noise level measured at the operator’s ear was approximately 15 decibels lower than the previous equipment, based on our on-site readings using a standard sound level meter. This reduction noticeably improved the acoustic environment without requiring any additional soundproofing investments.
One operator commented that he could now hear safety warnings and verbal instructions clearly, which previously had been masked by engine noise. The absence of exhaust fumes also contributed to a cleaner, more pleasant air quality. Over a full shift, the lower noise level reduced mental strain, leading to fewer errors in order picking and stacking. From a maintenance perspective, the electric drivetrain requires less frequent servicing than combustion engines, though we always recommend regular inspections to ensure optimal performance.

We emphasize that noise reduction is just one benefit; the overall improvement in operator comfort and productivity is equally valuable.
