When a food factory in Hubei prepares to accept a new electric forklift, a thorough and systematic inspection is essential to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operation. As an electric forklift expert, I recommend focusing on the following critical areas during the acceptance process.
First, verify the forklift's overall condition and documentation. Check that the manufacturer's data plate, serial number, and load capacity rating match the purchase order. Ensure all safety decals and warning labels are present and legible. The forklift should have a valid certificate of conformity and a user manual in Chinese or English.
Second, inspect the battery system thoroughly. The battery is the heart of an electric forklift. Confirm the battery type, voltage, and capacity match the specifications. Check for any signs of damage, corrosion, or electrolyte leakage. Test the battery charger connection and ensure the charging cable is intact. A full charge cycle should be completed to verify the battery reaches its rated voltage without overheating.
Third, evaluate the hydraulic system. Lift the forks to maximum height and lower them slowly. Listen for unusual noises, jerky movements, or hydraulic fluid leaks. Check the oil level in the hydraulic tank and ensure it is within the recommended range. The mast should tilt forward and backward smoothly without binding.
Fourth, examine the drive and steering systems. Drive the forklift forward and backward on a flat surface, testing acceleration, braking, and steering response. The parking brake must hold the forklift securely on a slight incline. Check tire condition and pressure; solid tires should have no cracks or excessive wear.
Fifth, test all safety features. The seat belt, overhead guard, and load backrest must be securely installed. The horn, lights, and backup alarm should function properly. If equipped, verify the operation of the fork positioner, side shift, or other attachments.
Sixth, check the electrical system. Inspect all wiring connections for loose or frayed wires. Test the display panel for accurate readings of battery level, speed, and error codes. The emergency disconnect switch should cut power instantly.
Finally, conduct a load test. Lift a test load equal to the rated capacity and travel a short distance. Observe the forklift's stability and control. After the test, inspect for any fluid leaks or abnormal temperature increases.
